Summer

Summer vacation is finally here. I finished my last exam on April 19th and immediately read 3 romance novels, back-to-back. I've calmed down a bit with the reading, but I remain super-excited about summer and I'm high on the thought of all the possible things I could do.

I'm officially accepted to McMaster University -- I got the letter this morning. I spent the afternoon learning what my transfer credits bought me and what my degree requirements are, and I'm dismayed to learn that the Romantic Period is severely underrepresented at McMaster. In fact, I've already received credit for the 19th century course that I was eyeing, despite the fact that I've only taken Victorian Literature. This means I'm getting credit for taking Romantic Literature even though I haven't taken it, and since I'm getting credit for it, I can't take it. I've been barred from taking the subject I intend to do my post-graduate work in, and that sucks. However, I plan on doing tons of independent work this summer. It'll have to be enough, and I'll console myself by taking many courses from their excellent cultural studies and critical theory program.
